Does someone you love have a mental illness?
Are you struggling with understanding their illness or with navigating the maze of trying to get them help? Or maybe you’re just worn out from the struggle and there’s too much stigma and too many myths about mental illness that it’s hard to care for yourself, let alone find help for your loved one.
Dealing with mental illness can just seem so overwhelming.
I’ve been there.
A couple of years ago, I attended this Family to Family course to find some support and education about dealing with mental illness. This course changed my perspective on mental illness and frankly, it changed my life.
There is no cost for the course. There are no Multi-Level-Marketing ‘opportunities’, no group membership, no cult to join. It’s free except for a 12 week time commitment that is worth every second.
Family to Family is sponsored by the National Alliance on Mental Illness that presents a science based curriculum so families can understand multiple aspects of mental illness. From the science behind the illnesses, to the treatments available for different illnesses to tons of info on how to survive and care for yourself when you’ve got a loved one who has a mental illness. This is simply one of the best classes I’ve ever attended.
It is taught by family members who’ve been in the same position with their loved ones. I got so much out of this class that I went on and became a teacher for the program. If it helped me, it can help you and your loved ones as well.
If you or someone you know has a relative with mental illness, this class can really help.
Please feel free to pass this along.
