• More Research on Reversing Macular Degeneration Vision Loss

This is a brief, poorly written article about new research into a method to reverse the vision loss due to macular degeneration. The process involves activating already present, but dormant glial cells in the eye which can then turn into retinal cells, restoring vision. It’s a process that occurs naturally in some fish species but has now just been successfully tested in mice.

The challenge with Macular Degeneration is that once the retinal cells die, there is no current way to replace them. There are drugs and therapies now available that will help slow the process down, but nothing that reverses it. This treatment would be life changing for millions of people.
